About Treatment

E-max Endocrowns provide a modern, minimally invasive alternative to traditional post-and-core supported full crowns for post-endodontic restorations. Fabricated from a single block of high-strength lithium disilicate glass-ceramic, an endocrown utilizes the internal geometry of the cleaned pulp chamber for retention. By retaining remaining coronal tooth structure and eliminating the mechanical stress associated with metal or fiber posts, E-max endocrowns offer superior resistance to fracture, excellent marginal integrity, and exceptional long-term structural integrity for heavily restored posterior teeth.

Benefits

Monolithic Strength & Resistance: Milled from a single block of lithium disilicate to withstand significant occlusal loading and reduce the risk of structural fracture.

Post & Core Elimination: Anchors directly into the pulp chamber, avoiding invasive root canal post placement and preserving root dentin integrity.

Minimally Invasive Preparation: Preserves maximum supragingival enamel and natural tooth structure compared to aggressive full-coverage crown prep.

Biocompatible & Highly Aesthetic: Matches natural translucency and shade of adjacent teeth while preventing tissue inflammation along the gumline.

Superior Marginal Fit & Seal: Precision-milled custom fit creates a tight micromechanical bond, protecting against microleakage and recurrent decay.

Procedure

Cavity & Chamber Preparation: Following root canal completion, existing restorative materials are cleared, and the pulp chamber cavity is shaped with flat walls and smooth margins to maximize surface retention.

Digital Scan / Impression: A digital intraoral scan or detailed physical impression of the prepared chamber and surrounding dentition is taken for custom CAD/CAM milling.

Provisional Placement: A temporary restoration is placed to seal and protect the pulp chamber while the custom ceramic endocrown is fabricated.

Try-In & Adhesive Bonding: The permanent E-max endocrown is verified for fit, shade match, and occlusion, then adhesively bonded into the pulp chamber using resin cement.

Occlusal Adjustment & Polishing: The bite is evaluated for full functionality and polished to ensure smooth surfaces and long-term durability.
